Known for their faithful covers of 60’s and 70’s tunes like The Beatle’s “Norwegian Wood” and “I’ve Just Seen a Face,” Dawn and Hawkes are an indie folk husband and wife duo from Austin, Texas. Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes auditioned for season 6 of the American reality talent show The Voice in 2014. They have appeared on Austin City Limits Music Festival and South by Southwest.
Their first full-length album “Yours and Mine”debuted in the 2016 top folk albums chart at #7. Their 2018 second album “The Other Side” also charted in the top ten folk albums and top 100 on Americana Music Association’s radio chart.
From Led Zeppelin 111, “Bron-Y-Aur” is one of Jimmy Page’s acoustic songs. It is the name of a little cottage in the mountains of Wales with Bron-Y-Aur being the Welsh equivalent of the phrase - golden breast. This is because of its position every morning as the sun rises. It was a beautiful place for the group to write the tunes for their third album.
This song highlights Dawn and Hawk’s smooth vocal harmonies and tight groove along with a drummer playing mandolin.
Really nice Stony. Thank you
